Tropical World

    Client: Leeds City Council

Project Description: Located in a prominent position at a major Leeds visitor attraction, we were involved in an initial viability assessment followed by a more detailed feasibility study for introducing a large two storey indoor play facility at the existing Tropical World visitor attraction in Roundhay.  Key site constraints were assessed with a view to minimising site enabling work costs, to maximise the budget spend on the new building and its associated facilities.  Working closely with Leeds City Council and 2H Architecture the building size, shape and access arrangements were designed to work sympathetically within a constrained area.

Design Overview: The basic superstructure is proposed as a steel frame with expressed feature columns and trusses in places, along with an in-situ composite first floor.
